Of course, every knitter's gauge is different, and different yarns produce different results, but the pattern page suggests trying needles you would normally use to achieve a gauge of 20 sts per 4 inches/ 10cm in blocked stockinette for your yarn. For the Plucky Primo Worsted I used, I ended up choosing a US#5 needle for the ribbing and a US#7 for the body of the hat.
