Knitter's Connection

Welcome! I’m happy you’ve stopped by my virtual studio, where I'll be journaling my discoveries in knitting, yarn spinning, knitwear designing, cooking, crafts, nature or whatever I find of interest, inspiration and beauty worth sharing, in this e-format.

Last week I attended the 2010 Knitter’s Connection conference in Columbus, Ohio. http://www.knittersconnection.com/

Hot on the heels of the TNNA www.tnna.org Autumn/ Winter trade show at the same convention center one week prior, this annual event offers dozens of classes for all skill levels featuring knitting, spinning, crochet, fiber photography and other subjects by expert teachers.

Here Cookie A. really gets into illustrating decreases in a class about her wonderful sock designs.

The market provided an eye-dazzling array of yarn, fiber, tools and toys for attendees. I loved the treasure trove from Dusty’s Vintage Buttons.

The yarn and fiber offerings were even more eye candy! Along with some familiar favorites like Briar Rose’s rustic, hand-dyed yarns and fiber by Chris Roosien,

I loved Tess’ Designer Yarns beautiful and fragrant display.

Melissa Leapman is such a nice person and graciously posed for me in the Leilani Fiber Arts booth with a copy of her new book Color Knitting the Easy Way.  The other things in her booth were equally lovely.

A wonderful find was Fiber Optic's  hand-dyed yarn and spinning supplies booth.

Loved this braid of their BFL roving in “Acorn,” combining gold, rust, brown, and bronze tones.

All in all it was a great weekend. Thanks again for stopping by, happy stitching!
